The perfect pumpkin for Halloween! The ‘Racer’ pumpkin is easy to grow, fast-growing and the compact fruits can weigh up to 8kg. Spring is the perfect time to start growing your very own Halloween pumpkin, a good guideline is to start seeds indoors 3–4 weeks before planting out. Don’t forget to also harden off your pumpkin plants once the risk of frost is over. It is also possible to direct sow pumpkins outdoors once the soil has warmed up to at least 15 degrees. Pumpkins need a lot of water and food, so don’t forget to water often.
